Signs of liquid damage

  • It won't turn on after getting wet.
  • There are marks or moisture inside the screen.
  • The speaker or microphone sounds wrong.
  • It gets hot or the battery drains very quickly.

What to do straight after it gets wet

  1. Switch it off and don't turn it on to see if it works.
  2. Don't charge it.
  3. Dry the outside with a cloth, without a hairdryer or any other heat source.
  4. Rice won't fix it: the best thing is to bring it in as soon as possible.

A water-damaged phone needs several days: it has to be opened, dried, cleaned of corrosion and checked for damaged parts. We tell you how long when we check it.

Water resistance wears off with knocks, general wear and previous repairs, and it doesn't cover salt water or other liquids. That's why it's worth having it checked even if it seems to work.
